Augustinian history now online
Two new exhibits are now online! "Celebrating the 750th Anniversary of the Grand Union of the Augustinian Order, from Medieval Italy to Modern Villanova" and "Commemorating 500 Years of the Complete Works of Saint Augustine, from the 1506 Amerbach Edition to the Internet" were previously on display from September through November 2006, on Falvey's second floor.
The online exhibit was created by Teri Ann Incrovato, while the physical exhibit was organized by Rev. Karl A. Gersbach, O.S.A, director of the Augustinian Historical Institute, and Bente Polites, Special Collections librarian.
The exhibits honor significant anniversaries connected with Villanova University. The first traces the roots of the Augustinians, the founders and sponsors of Villanova University, and the second celebrates the 500th anniversary of the first publication of the complete works of St. Augustine. The exhibits, sponsored by the Augustinian Historical Institute and Falvey's Special Collections, display materials from both collections.
