“Don Quixote in Translation”
“Don Quixote in Translation” was the theme of an exhibit mounted in Falvey Memorial Library in conjunction with the "Don Quixote at 400: A Celebratory Encounter" Conference sponsored by the modern languages and literatures department March 17-19 at Villanova University. The three-day international conference celebrated the 400th anniversary of the publication of the first part of Miguel de Cervantes’s classic novel.
Demonstrating the impact the book has had in many languages and for many times, ”Don Quixote in Translation” featured copies of the novel published in French, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Spanish and English. The works were on loan from faculty in the department, from Falvey’s special and circulating collections and from Michael Foight, business librarian.
