New faces, New places

Margaret Duffy
Margaret Duffy
was recently promoted to Manager of Budget and Administrative Services, a position that encompasses responsibilities pertaining to budgeting, human resource policies, student employment, business processes, procurement and facilities. According to Joe Lucia, library director and University librarian, “Margaret never shrinks from a challenge. She is capable of multi-tasking and managing large diverse initiatives without missing a beat.”

Donna KernDonna Kern joined Falvey Memorial Library in October as Access and Information Technician, covering afternoons and evenings. She was previously a circulation specialist at Neumann College Library and also worked at Borders Books & Music in Bryn Mawr. She completed her bachelor’s in psychology at West Chester University in 2004. Kern will provide user support at both Access Services and the Information Desk, and her responsibilities will include circulation transactions for the book collection, course reserves, interlibrary loans, laptops and study rooms. She will also field queries about general library and campus information.

Darren Poley

Darren G. Poley has assumed the newly created position of Coordinator of Programming and Outreach. In response to the increasing number of events hosted by Falvey Memorial Library in its role as a cultural and intellectual crossroads for the University, Poley will be responsible for the development and management of academically-oriented programming. He will facilitate development of the liaison program between faculty and librarians and work with University offices, departments, the Alumni Association, local community groups and regional libraries. Poley has been a librarian at Falvey Memorial Library since 1998.

Margaret McGuckin retired in May from her position as building monitor in Falvey. A former school teacher, she began her tenure with Villanova University in 1989. As a building monitor, she was responsible for maintaining order and quiet on the upper floors of the Library and for assisting library patrons locate circulating materials and use the computers and printers.

Richard Hoose, a familiar face as a door-checker in Falvey Memorial Library, recently retired after eight years of service to the University.

Teri Ann IncrovatoTeri Ann Incrovato joined Falvey in November as a Special Collections and Cataloging Assistant, a full-time temporary position. Incrovato recently completed master’s degrees in museum studies and art history at Syracuse University. A 2002 graduate of Villanova, she majored in history and art history. She also worked as a student employee in the Falvey Reference department from 1998 to 2002.
