Women’s History Month faculty book talks
In honor of Women’s History Month, Falvey Memorial Library proudly sponsored two Scholarship @ Villanova lectures by faculty from the history department. Both of their books were a labor of love for these scholars, as each speaker shared interesting stories about her research and the insights to be found in exploring the lives of women.
Dr. Catherine Kerrison, associate professor of history, discussed her book Claiming the Pen: Women and Intellectual Life in the Early American South (Cornell University Press, 2005) on March 20.
Dr. Rebecca Winer, assistant professor of history, talked about her book Women, Wealth and Community in Perpignan, c.1250–1300: Christians, Jews and Enslaved Muslims in a Medieval Mediterranean Town (Ashgate, 2006) on March 15.
