ChoiceReviews.Online means easy access
Falvey Library no longer subscribes to the print magazine Choice nor to the Choice cards that had been sent each month to help academic departments choose titles for the Library. For your convenience, we are now providing access to ChoiceReviews.Online. A link to the site and a guide to searching the electronic issues are located on Falvey’s home page under Faculty Services in the Library Services column and through VUCat, the library catalog, where you can search by Journal Title.
Faculty are invited to e-mail Choice selections to their departmental librarian liaison.
Choice: Current Reviews for Academic Libraries, first published by the Association of College and Research Libraries in 1964, intends to review scholarly publications suitable for university library collections. The reviews are arranged by academic department and the “reviewers are primarily teaching faculty… selected for their subject expertise.” More than 22,000 print and electronic publications are examined each year, of which about 30% are reviewed.
