New Falvey Scholars named

The winners of the 2007 Falvey Scholars undergraduate research competition have been announced.

The seniors and their research topics are Erin Arizzi, “Kenneth Burke and Middlemarch: A Perspective by Incongruity,” Jenna Cucco, “Revelation as the In-breaking of God in History,” Jen Ellis, “Class and Political Engagement in America,” Matthew Fallon, “Republics in Renaissance,” Lauren Linkowski, “A Chapbook of Original Poetry,” and Sean Wright, “Political Economy of Black America in Philadelphia.”

Selected from a strong field of candidates, these six students were not only chosen for the outstanding character of their senior thesis, but also for a research presentation made during a series of colloquia conducted by the Honors Program this spring.

Each will be honored at the Falvey Scholars presentation event in the Library on Thursday, May 3, 2007, beginning at noon. The Falvey Scholars will present their research topics and discuss what they learned from this academic endeavor. All are invited to attend the event and refreshments will be served.
