Events

Debatin' the Brits. Members of Villanova University's newly re-formed debate team will compete with the British National Debate Team in a debate exhibition here at Villanova University, on Thursday, Nov. 17, 1 p.m., in Falvey's first floor lounge. This event, part of the British team's semester-long tour of the United States, is sponsored by the Villanova Debate Society and Falvey Memorial Library.

AIDS and the Catholic Church. During Sexual Health Awareness Week when the AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on campus, Dr. Jon Fuller, S.J., M.D. will talk about the AIDS epidemic and the Catholic Church, on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 1 p.m., in Falvey's first floor lounge. This event is sponsored by Falvey Memorial Library, the department of theology and religious studies, the Office for Mission Effectiveness and the Center for Health and Wellness Education.

The Changing Form of the Print Novel.” A public conversation with N. Katherine Hayles, Ph.D., this year’s Phi Beta Kappa visiting scholar, on Thursday, Dec. 1, 1 p.m., in Falvey's first floor lounge. This event is sponsored by Phi Beta Kappa and Falvey Memorial Library.

Exhibits

“Reliving Antiquity: Depictions of the Classical Past from the Renaissance to the Present, ” on display from Wednesday, Oct. 5 through Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005, second floor. This exhibit is sponsored by the Core Humanities Program and Special Collections, Falvey Memorial Library.

Falvey Memorial Library’s window display dedicated to the Kite Runner and the culture of Afghanistan will continue to change throughout the year. The first floor display for the One Book Villanova celebration is sponsored by the Library’s geography and political science liaison team, coordinated by Merrill Stein, with assistance from Media Technologies/Creative Design and Collection Development departments.
